Red Velvet Lipstick

This particular Besame shade of is one of my absolute favorites that they make. It's a deep brick red with no cool or blue undertones. It is a beautiful red that adds a perfect dramatic touch to both classic chic and casual outfits. I find it extremely flattering on my very fair skin tone and there is no reason that anyone of any skin tone couldn't wear this Red Velvet shade of lipstick. These Besame lipsticks are so creamy and luxurious and very highly pigmented. I always start with a small amount and build up to my desired depth of the moment. Sometimes I go lighter and sometimes darker depending on what I'm looking to achieve. The vintage style tubes are well detailed and very reminiscent of the eras they are fashioned after. High quality on every level. These are boutique lipsticks made in small batches and they really are something special. I am awaiting several colors to come back in stock so I can buy them to add to my collection of the 9 that I already have. I highly recommend these lipsticks to anyone who is nostalgic about vintage glamour

This is my second tube of red velvet, and while the color and all seems the same… I’m not a fan of the new tube. It’s larger (which doesn’t fit as well in my bag) and doesn’t have as satisfying a closing click. I also preferred the more gold-red color instead of white gold shade, it feels more elegant and lovely. The new packaging is also MUCH larger, and in the past I’ve found that I like to keep my tubes in the packaging to help protect them from scratches.

Let's be honest: I bought this lipstick because I am a huge Captain America nerd and have been dying for Peggy's lipstick. I could not be happier with the lipstick! Not only did it arrive in the cutest little bag, and the packaging was adorable, but the color was stunning. It's long-lasting, lightweight, and builds beautifully. The only downside is that it gets on EVERYTHING I touch with my lips, but it is still very durable. I will be buying again, this is my new staple to every single makeup look.

Victory Red was my first Besame lipstick, which I went looking for because of a combination of frightening news and comforting 40s documentaries about keeping up morale in the face of frightening odds on a particularly sentimental midnight rabbit hole. I've never been a bold makeup person, but I loved Victory Red so much I went looking for more shades. I was not prepared for Red Velvet. This color means business- it's what I'd wear if I was ever called as an expert witness, or to a party where I wanted to intimidate. This lipstick will kick butt for you.

The shade is perfect, it feels great, and the application isn't too difficult (although it does get a little getting used to). Overall, I absolutely love this lipstick and the shade, it's definitely become my favorite, and it's a bonus that Hayley Atwell wore it as Peggy Carter! Love it, and the packaging that it (as well as the cake mascara I ordered with it) came in! As a vintage enthusiast, I know that I can look forward to purchasing from Bésame again!
